Inspector Dupin is seasick, Inspector Kadeg is lovesick, and so the two set off by ferry for the rugged island of Ouessant. A stranger has been found murdered in a cave. Among his belongings, Dupin finds a photograph of a Celtic wind instrument. The trail leads to the musical trio of Rayanne, Céleste and Enora. The three are dismissive. On the island, only the mysterious Sybil seems to trust them. Then Dupin, Kadeg and Nevou discover the tragic secret the three young women are harbouring.
